Craig; FWIW Wiring diagram for my 2000 XCS chassis shows the DRL's are controlled by a relay located in the fuse and relay panel. Should be marked on the panel cover. You want to switch the input line for that relay, much lower current than the output to the lights. Power comes from ignition circuit.

Thanks Hooligan. I am actually upgrading my headlights to HID's, which requires a secondary relay & power source. The lights won't work without the additional relay, so my intention is to interrupt the power to it with a toggle switch.

Wow...I just realized that I hit 1004 forum posts with that last reply!

Actually, it's the people with too much time on their hands that post a lot.

Craig: if you are putting in a new relay, find one with a set of normally closed contacts in addition to the controlled contacts. Wire your indicator light there, it will be on when the relay opens to turn the DRL's off...
