1992 Gulfstream Sun Voyager - plumbing drains

Is it common to have a bathroom sink drain going into black tank?

yes, since the gray tank fill much sooner than the black will.

We had a gulfstream super c that had the bathroom sink draining into the black. Found it to be a pita. Couldn't figure out why the black tank was filling up so quickly then one day I hold the valve open and the sink was running. Couldn't believe they would do that. I think it is completely cost related. They didn't have to run the drain as far.
