1992 Winnebago Sunrise Odometer

I am looking at purchasing a 1992 Winnebago Sunrise with a chevy 454 engine. The current owner says that the odometer is listed in kilometers not miles and shows 110K in kilometers so approx. 70K in miles. Her explanation for this is the vehicle came from Canada. She is asking $7000 dollars. Says everything works. My questions are:

1. Do these vehicles come with odometers that are in Kilometers? (Want to make sure she is telling the truth)

2. If everything works and is in good condition for the year model, is this a good buy?

3. When looking at this RV, what things should I look for or be concerned about.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If I buy this I will be a regular on this forum!

Test Drive.

Take it for a test drive, go somewhere that a known mile exists and see how the odometer indicates it and you are then sure.

Bear in mind none are perfect, and tire change could make it slightly off.

I good hill for power test could not hurt either.

Canadian units predominantly if not always come with speedometers that read in KM's. The odometer will also reflect a higher reading like 8000 KM versus 5000 miles (rough conversion) you need to check with your state vehicle registration because if I'm not mistaken most states will record the KM fig as the miles figure on the title even if you change the head to a "miles" head.

One thing in your favor if you decide not to change the heads the face shows both MPH and KPH so you won't always be having to mentally converting the figures while you drive.
