Question 1994 Chevy P3 chassis auto parking brake issue

Hi all. Found this site while researching issues with my 1994 Bounder 34J Chevy P3 chassis with the Hydro-Boost auto-apply parking brake system (AAPB). Yea, I did not know what I was getting into with this system

I’ve had 3 power steering pumps go out (the one that was in it when I bought it, the first replacement after 1000 -1200 miles and the second replacement that never worked from the get go). I’m putting in a different brand of remanufactured pump this time and draining as much of the old power steering pump fluid as I can before filling it with new fluid. I also plan on bleeding the AAPB which brings me to the reason for this post.

Before I do the multi-step bleeding technique I would like to check the parking brake shoes as the manual apply foot pedal has excessive travel (almost to the forward bulkhead). I’ve got the drive line disconnected and tied up out of the way, shifter in neutral and the rig securely raised off the ground. My question is: How the heck do you (if you even can) release the auto-apply parking brake without starting the motor and before I have bled the system?

Worst part is I'm leaving (hopefully) next Thursday for the Oregon coast ! and this plays right in to my names initials - LML - last minute Louie Thanks for your help in advance.

I had a 1994 Chevy (P30) chassis which had a electric I think parking brake on the drive shaft you could at drive shaft or turn the key and put in neutral to release.

Thanks Rooster, This is an early 1994. No electrics on this system.

Update: reading more threads and I figured out how the drum comes off - the bolt Duh . . . Unfortunately for me when I pulled it back some fluid came out of the trany output shaft (I presume) Seems like I opened another can of worms. To get the darn brake drum off the output shaft I have to drop the trany about an inch to clear a floor beam crossmember.

On a good note I think the power steering and brakes are working. I don't have full weight on the front wheels yet but they seem to turn easily and the brake pedal seems pumped up. The only issue left is that now when I run the system it will sometimes empty the reservoir and sometimes fill it to overflow. I don't understand why it takes all the fluid then blows it all back.
