Some friends of mine had a problem with their
Winegard antenna system where the amplifier
appears to be bad. Unlike the wall mounted
units it appears there is a small amplifier
and a seperate switch. the question is this
a amplifed antenna or a non amplified antenna
there does not appear to be any documentation on this. In order to replace the box I need
to know which type of Winegard antenna it is.
thanks much.

No matter where the switch is located the amplifier needs 12 volts to boost the signal. If you will call Winegard they can help you if you have questions. I think the antenna (if it is a batwing) will be amplified.
