1999 Bounder tranny shift linage

On the way down to Florida this year, my tranny shift linkage fell off. Lucky it was at a Cracker Barrel Rest. I wire the linkage onto the stud on the tranny shift lever ( Ball had rusted off). I made to Florida and went to a Ford Dealer in Arcadia and the part would have been approx. $80:00 and to install it would have required dropping the pan, which would mean a hefty labor Charge.
I decided to just install a new Ball Stud and searched the Internet and found a Edelbrock #8016 Ball End Throttle Lever Stud at AutoZone, Arcadia Fl. for a total of $15:04. I ground off the remaining stud and drill out a hole 3/16" and installed the new Ball Stud. The stud has a 1/4" Ball and about a 1/2" length between the Ball and base. Repair made to my satisfaction and a lot cheaper.
Hope this Info is helpful for someone else.
