I am the proud owner of a 2000 BraveSE. 454 on a workhorse chasis. THe engineers at Winnie got this combination right! 11 mpg, / 9 mpg towing a 3300lb Continental on a dolly.....keeps up with the big boys even on the mountain roads in NY state. Trouble free for 95000 miles. Usual maintenance and 50,000 mile tuneup.
We like the unit and it performs great!I am not interested in trading "up" and know I won't get much for it. Will go so far as to spend the money for repowering when necessary but think I can get at least another 50,000 before that is necessary. Current engine performs great, dosen't burn oil, compression right up there with the new ones, etc. I baby it and care for it to the extent that inside and out it looks like it is new.
I have only one problem. Delamination. I have read most of the posts here and am wondering what other owners of this model have done.I am willing to put some money into the unit as we plan to keep it for at least another 3 or 4 years. Any ideas would be appreciated.
