In May 2004 we wrote about the cracks in the cargo doors, bumpers and fenders on our 2001 National Seaview. More cracks have occured since that posting. National says they will ship cargo doors but not fenders or bumpers since they now have new management. They will not paint or install them. These cracks have occured because we live in a colder climate with temperature changes. It will cost us at least $1600 to repair our unit. This should be corrected by National as it is not caused by anything we have done. Has anyone else had successful resolutions of this problem with National?

Just a suggestion. Have you thought of repairing the bumpers etc.? I have never heard of such items cracking from weather only. However, if the items are fibreglass, they can be repaired by using either boat repair kits or Auto body filler. A good auto body shop can handle the repairs and the painting.

I have a 2001 surfside. I too have had cracks in cargo doors and bumpers. National has sent me replacement doors but will not send bumpers for some reason. There is not much you can do about it. I am collecting doors and storing them until I get a complete set. I only need 4 at this point.

All surfside and seaviews from 1999 through 2001 used the same material for their doors.

Being as national RV may be out of business soon I would get them to send you the parts asap before the vultures take over.
