2002 Holiday Rambler Endeavor starter problem

We took our motorhome into a dealer to adjust the dining slide, fill with propane, etc. When they tried to start it and back it out of the repair bay, it wouldn't start. Anyone out there with similar problem? Seems odd that it would just not start at all. We had to have it towed for this repair as this dealer didn't work on diesels.

If they don't work on them, do they have anyone on staff in the shop that knows anything about starting/operating one?

Type of chassis and engine you have would probably get more responses. Starter solenoid went out on mine a while back. Pulled it and took it to a starter repair shop and about $50 later was back in business.

Ther ars so many possible causes so a couple of questions first.

- Does the engine turn over but just won't start.

- if the engine turns over, does it even try to start or just spin.

2002 Holiday Rambler Starter Problem

Thanks so much. When my husband went to Cummins where we had it towed...it started. Go figure! They mentioned the silenoid and said they'd check that out. Thank goodness for tow insurance.

It's not unusual for a starter solenoid to quit or a motor to have a bad spot (the starter rotates), failing suddenly like that. I had one on my Cummins ISL that was intermittent for 6 months before I finally replaced it. It would not start, then a couple minutes later would crank right up.

Thanks for that. The part did not come in and we took off for FL. So far so good. We haven't had any problems starting it. We'll be coming by you today. Say a prayer.
