I get the 5 blinking green light code with gas light staying on. Manual says take it for service. Have gas & elec. so it is another problem. Anyone have a fix, we're leaving tomorrow for 10 day trip !
Came back from 2 month trip using fridge on gas only with no hint of problem. Sat a month & now this. There is mention in manual of a fused wire(solder inside wire that melts causing open but couldn't find it. Sounds like low coolant to me....Any ideas ?

What Model is your refrigerator? Have you tried disconnecting 12 volt and 120 volt power, assuring that all electrical connections on the outside area are good & tight and repowering the unit? Make sure the unit is level. Let me know and I will try to help. There is some technical info on their website. http://www.thetford.com/cda/public2....inCategoryID=2

In addition to the site provided by RV Wizard, you might try Bryant RV. Go to the "service documents" section of the site. If you know your model number, you may find the complete service manual available there for download. Hope this helps.

Thank You for the excellent replies. I disconnected all connectors to no avail, also checke for bad component on controller board. Been to the Thetford site but will try the other. Postponed till tomorrow (leaving). Bought a couple more large ice chest for the trip too.

Robert,

There is a "factory" reset that you can try. Look at the back of the refrigerator. Remove the cover over the printed circuit board. There is a connector with two rows of pins - 16 points in two rows of eight - I think. The second pin from the left on the top row should be empty. Insert a wire in it and ground the other end. Hold it there for about 10 seconds, and you should hear the refrigerator reset. If the problem is still there, it will trip again. If not, you should be back in business.

Norcold generally only allows you one reset of a fault. If you trip the second time, they want you to go to a dealer in case you have a gas or leaking refrigerent problem.

BE AWARE THAT YOU DO THE RESET AT YOUR OWN RISK. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A GAS LEAK AROUND THE REFRIGERATOR.

Hope this helps.

W8RLM - Bob
