2006 EMS Intellitec

Any One owning a 2006 SBP 34’ Holiday Rambler Admiral SE by Monaco with a Vortex 8.1 liter engine with Allison transmission.

Does anyone who owns the above RV or is knowledgeable about the Intillitec EMS system 900 please tell me where the 12 volt VDC control power comes from. This is the 12 volt control power that tells the EMS board that the Generator is running.

The problem is that when the Generator is running the EMS board does not recognize that it is the Generator and thinks it is connected to 30 amp shore power. All breakers are good-not tripped.

The main question is where does the wire that carries the 12 volt signal to the EMS board originate?

Thanks

Marked 2008, but may match what you have.

I had that same system in my 2004 American Tradition. It was a widely popular AC power panel and EMS, used in many brands and models of coaches.

The EMS has two 12v feed wires, which can be easily seen once you pull the front panel off the load center (The actual EMS is behind the breaker panel). One wire is the genset signal and is typically connected to one of the generator remote start switches (the light on the switch provides the 12v signal when the genset starts). The other 12v feed is from your battery/converter/charger panel and is a simple 12v power source for the EMS circuit board. When +12v is present on the genset signal line, the EMS disables the 30A power management so you can use full genset power.

NOTE: The diagram in the previous post is 120v wiring and does not show the 12v connections.

Gary is correct about my prior post. This diagram may be more helpful.

That diagram would be great if only there was an explanation of what those various harness connectors actually go to. It's a good start, though, and maybe further descriptions are available.

Gary, that would take all the fun out of it!

This is actually one of the better Monaco diagrams, in that it shows pretty much the entire Monaco side of the generator circuits. A lot of times I have to go on a rabbit chase from diagram to diagram to follow signals from end-to-end.

Although I have no diagram to confirm, the P18 plug is connected (via a short adapter cable) to the generator remote start connector. The pinout for that connector is shown on page 17 of the attached generator installation manual.

The FDP (Front Distribution Panel) is in the outside compartment immediately in back of the driver side front wheel.
