3M Command Hooks for Curtain Rods

We just removed blinds and valances from our RV and plan to put up curtains and curtain rods.

3M Command hooks seem to be a simple and effective option. Does anyone have any experience using these for curtain rods?

I read about some problems about this product on an old thread on a Grand Design forum. The posters had some negative experience with how the command hook adhesive interacted with the rv wall/wallpaper. Otherwise, feedback seemed strongly positive.

Any thoughts/experiences?

Thanks

we use them all the time with fee issues. just be sure to let the adhesive "cure" for at least an hour before applying the load. also, consider using the hooks designed for outdoor use for heavier loads...tape seems to carry those loads better.

We don't use them for curtain rods, but we do use them to hold a hanging clothes rod in the shower. When on the road we hang anywhere from 5 to 10 coats, jackets, shirts, etc., etc. on the rod. The total weight is somewhere between 20 lbs. and 30 lbs.

We use a single 15 lb. Command hook at each end. We have put on about 40,000 miles without any problems with the hooks coming off the wall.

Be sure to read the directions and clean the surfaces per the instructions before applying the strips.

We had three failures last summer in our unoccupied winter residence. The A/C was set for 90degrees, however I suspect the high temps contributed to the failures. We used the small hooks for light battery operated clocks.

Thanks for all of the feedback. The 3M Command hooks say the adhesive is sturdy up to 125 degrees F. I do worry about the heat when the coach is unaccompanied in the summer, between trips. I am going to use these hooks for light curtain rods and look into another option if they fail. I am trying to avoid drilling holes into the walls, but will if it makes for more sustainable curtain rods.
