I have the factory installed 3M mask on my Monaco.I originally heard that you should not apply any wax to it, particularly petroleum based products. Has anyone heard different or found a wax that works on the mask. I searched the board, but found nothing about waxing the mask.

I would recommend using "No Wet". It is not petroleum based and will clean, polish and UV protect the shield. THere are other brands that will also help protect it but like you said, stay away from petroleum based products as this could soften the adhesive and cause a real mess.

I had the 3M mask on a Lexus and a Porsche. The place that installed the film said to go ahead and wax the film.
The biggest problem with waxing the film is the wax residue that is left around the edges.
I have the Diamond Brite brand of film on my MH. They recommend 303 protectant.
