2003 Mountain Aire Gas.
When I turn the key to on position no lights on instrument panel and engine wont crank in start position, just clicks. Upon inspection the 40 amp fuse is blown in "IGN" on fuse panel located on exterior drivers side firewall. I even tried a temporay 60 AMP fuse and that blows after 2 or 3 attempts. Anybody else ever experienced this issue?

Sounds like a short somewhere and they can be a bear to find sometimes, in that maze of wiring.

Is the MA on a Workhorse chassis? W22 or W24?

Does the fuse blow as soon as you turn the key on or only after you attempt to crank?

If you have Daytime Running Lights, look for a shorted headlamp. They typically will have their own circuit breaker, but...?

fossil, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here. Sorry to hear of the ignition circuit problem. You might try removing all of the fuses that are hotted up by the ignition switch and replace the 40 amp main ignition fuse. If it holds then replace other fuses one at a time checking the 40 amp each time. When you find a circuit that casues the 40 amp to blow you have narrowed it down to that circuit. Had the same problem 3 years ago in the dump station at a state park.Workhorse rep got me on the road,and I repaired when I got home.You have to remove the 2 piece cover on steering collum.The wires to the ign switch rub on a 90 degree bracket made out of aluminum,Every time you move the steering up or down.My wire was just worn thru insulation,so I taped up,then added a loom and filed down the sharp casting edge till it was smooth.
