6.5 Onan Generator won't start

I have been working an a 6.5 Onan Generator. Could not get it to turn over. I have put a new starter, starter selanoid, plugs, oil and filter and also put a new coil on it. I can get it to turn over and am getting gas to the cylinders, but not getting any spark out of the plugs. I ran a continuity check and I am getting continuty to the coil, but I am not getting anything continuty out of the top of the coil. Any suggestions?

I believe the ignition points are in the center of the engine in a little box. file the points or buy new points and condenser. set to .018" I believe.
