I was up on the roof this afternoon doing a general inspection and lubing the TV antenna and roof vent. I took a look at the awning and there is about 10" missing of the bead that holds the canvas to the flexible aluminum cover on the back end. It doesn't appear that anything is broken or missing. The set screws are still in both ends of the awning. Is this normal? Should I worry about the awning pulling out or tearing? Should I try to get a piece of whatever is used for the bead?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I had the same thing happen. I took a piece of plastic rod and re inserted it in the pocket of the bead after I put the bead back into the groove.
I hope that this is what you were talking about.

Any local hardware store (Home Depot, Lowe's, ACE should have a plastic or metal rod that will fit.

I had the same problem on my Providence. Set screws in place but about 18 inches of rod missing. I suspect sloppy installation. Had mobile RV Tech replace rod and seems to be OK.
