If I am not mistaken, the moderators and most of the staff here are unpaid volunteers, as is true on several other RV forums as well as many forums of other subjects. But the remarkable thing that I would like to point out about this site is the restraint that these folks show when some post happens to disagree with them. While I do not always agree with what the moderators have to say, and even at times have challenged the manor in which some things have been said, what is truely remarkable about this group is the fact that no matter how strongly you may disagree with them, they never make any effort to edit what you post, or to prevent you from posting a reply that differs with their opinion. That is hardly the case on most forums that are run by non-professionals. Not only do I commend them for their efforts and their restraint, but especially for the ethical standard that they display. A recent case on another RV forum where the moderator has been editing the posts that he dislikes really brought that one home to me. I may not always agree with all that they say, but I highly respect them for the manner in which they do things.Well done guys! And thanks.

....it is not what you say-it is how you say it..... and yes they have edit/deleted my posts and sent me arguements pro and con.....There are a few control freaks everywhere these days and I just ignore them-From my personal experience/private practice they are generally alcohol related or have a problem with being self rightous....again Ignore them they are not the majority and in most cases just feel a deepseated need to control others-because of a loss of control issue in their lives that they have not been able to except.....by the numbers they are getting fewer and fewer as that group is aging and as a group are self destructive.....can't cure them all....geofkaye

On behalf of all the other moderators, thank you Kirk. We enjoy being able to help people in general and this is just another way to do just that. Sometime we make mistakes but we are human and not perfect but we try to do things right. My moto has always been "When I leave, you'll be glad we met".

Kirk,

Thanks for the compliments, it's refreshing to hear a positive comment regarding our efforts to maintain a premiere RV Forum and it's greatly appreciated.

Currently, iRV2 has 21 moderators, 3 Administrators, and our 1 founder, "Warpath". Each moderator has a specific assignment consisting of various forums and are charged with the responsibility to insure that all the many parts of the forum are reviewed daily. With the volume of posting recently, it's getting tough for them to look at it all.

All of us are volunteers, no one gets a dime for any of their efforts and often some of the issues we deal with can be time demanding and challenging to handle. We strive to be fair to all and most of our edits are dealing with HTML code or direct violation of our posted rules and Terms of Service.

We strive to keep the forum's language at a very high standard and have a very low tolerance for derogatory comments directed towards a member's personality for his or her views, usually referred to as 'flaming' on Internet forums. We'll also edit racial and sexual slurs and attempt to discourage members who have a tendency to use such remarks to make their points.

Again, I thank you for your refreshing positive comments and we'll continue to try to live up to our members' high expectations of the administrative team.

Regards,
"Hitchhiker"

Hey folks, we always appreciate a pat on the back. But what all makes it worthwhile are the great bunch of members we have.

Thanks,

RV Wiz,

In the interest in truth-in-advertising, Is there a High Falls in High Falls? We do have a Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain.

Good job by all the "officials". Lots of great info passes through the forum.

High Falls has water falls but nothing like you might think. The elevation does drop a couple hundred feet in about a mile and so providing the falls.

I suppose that I had not considered bad language or personal attacks in my comments. As one who believes that such thing only demonstrate the lack of intelligence of the author, I would consider that type of edit just using good taste. But I know of not one case of an edit because the post said that a staff member was wrong. Believe me, not all forums are like that. And for that reason it gives this one far more stature. In my view it is one of the most honest, and thus most valuable around. There are a lot of RV forums, but only a few real quality ones. This is one of the top group!

I couldn't agree with you more about the quality of people on this site Kirk, I have been to the others and I call this one home. Some of us visit other sites to give advice but response can be demeaning, if they don't care for advice so be it. The best to people that run this site its a pleasure to be part of it. "007"
