Adding 30\50amp and dump station at home

Hi all,

A local electrician has told me it would cost 150-200$ to add 30\50amp for my MH at home.

I also have a septic field about 30 foot away from my driveway, the septic company told me it would cost about 200$-300$ to add an access point.

Is this worth doing?

There is a dump station about 4 miles from my house.

Numbers are about right, depending on what and how far/deep they need to go.

On the septic - you should already have a "Clean-Out" and this will do fine to dump in. with just a little more Hose? (Location?)

Without knowing what all you are thinking, there could be workarounds but the $$$ is pretty much on Target.

Best of Luck,

Thanks both,

My wife seems to think it will not work as the MH will not be close enough to the septic.

The septic field is at the back of my garage, the run would be about 30 foot.

I'm using a FloJet macerator pump to reach 80 feet to a pipe that I had added to my septic system.

I would absolutely! It would allow those "go straight home from camping" times where you can wash out your tanks the next day. Also allows you un-pressured time to really clean out and sanitize all your tanks and systems. Gives you a "guest house" as well.

We have them and it is well worth it. Electric is just about a MUST, and the sewer is nice. Been in a lot of campsites that had a 30' run to septic.

I have a macerator pump also, did the hose that came with your pump reach the 80 feet? or did you have to purchase a different hose?

Mine is a portable pump that fits onto the same twist-lock fitting as the regular stinky slinky hose. It did not come with any hose at all. It pumps through a standard garden hose-type fitting. The manufacturer recommends a minimum 3/4" diameter garden hose.

It's a good thing, do it. I installed the electric hookup and use a macerating pump to go 100+ feet to a sewer cleanout out.

Its not just simply dumping. It enables easy usage of the RV if the house is not usable, as guest quarters, etc. Also easy maintenance and cleaning of tanks.
