Adding Drivers to Insurance Policy

I have Progressive RV insurance and my DW refuses to drive our class A MH so I am stuck doing all the driving. May be a blessing, I am not sure.

I called Progressive insurance MH specialist, at Progressive, and he said I can add anyone I like, even if they don't live in my home. He said their driving record would go on my policy and could see a premium increase.

He then went on to say that I don't have to add anyone, as the Progressive policy says, in general, vague, terms that anyone I let drive is covered by my policy. ???????
He said even if I tell them they can take the MH without me for a week or so that my policy covers them as I said they could take it.

I use to work for Farmers Insurance as a claims rep and if you didn't live in that household, and you wrecked a car/truck, you weren't covered. And since you are not covered the damage was not covered.

Anyone experience any of this or have someone drive that was not on your policy and they wrecked you coach and it was covered/not covered?

Not my coach but my truck. A person who is not on my policy had an accident with my truck. Insurance covered the damages. The premiums of the driver increased on her insurance (Not mine) as she now has an accident on her record . This is in Ontario Canada where we have 'no fault' insurance.

We have the same in the US on automobiles. If you have your own auto insurance and wreck someone elses car/truck you insurance has to fix it as you don't live in their household thus you are not covered on their policy.

But if the other person dosen't have RV insurance I wonder if their auto insurance would cover them in case of an RV accident?

Reading the fine print in any insurance policy , will give you a migraine in a hurry , every company/policy will have it's twists and turns.
My policy covers for any driver with over 10 years driving experience ; PROVIDED ; they have the correct " air brake endorsement " on their license.
After hearing the course requirements , my DW wouldn't take the course , so basically the coach doesn't move , unless I'm behind the wheel. DW could drive it , but insurance would be void.

Every policy that I have ever had covers anyone that I let drive my vehicle(s).

Does anyone have any suggestions on which insurance company is best and not too expensive?
