5050XL

Checkout www.mandrelbendingsolutions.com for 90 bends, AeroTurbine mufflers, etc. On their ebay store is where I bought our 5050XL for $120+ $15 shipping no tax. I just looked, and now it appears they are no longer selling AeroTurbine mufflers? I couldn't hurt to call them and ask.
Now, the cheapest I could find a 5050XL was $155 at www.ourdealsrock.net/aeroexhaustat5050xl.aspx
You might want to wait for a better deal to come along?

Don

Thanks every body for the info where to find the Aero-Tubine Muffler. We are down for a while with the second Norcold recall. Will keep looking.

Can i ask why you have not installed the areo muffler? I have posts to inquire about the loudness of them and if people like them after their install.

5050XL Noise Level

We recently drove 1000 miles from TX to the CO mtns recently with our new 5050XL installed. I can say without a doubt that it is much louder than the stock muffler when accelerating or decelerating with the Jake brake. At hwy cruising speeds there is no noticeable difference than stock. Our coach has an 11 liter engine.
We hope this helps
Don

Not an AeroTurbine 5050XL, but another approach.
I installed a SS 5”straight thru in/out MonsterFlow about one year ago. Very happy with the results. A little louder when standing outside. You will hear it when passing thru an underpass. Inside the coach underway accelerating , just a slight increase in sound. The only time I felt a little bad about the sound was when I was leaving the Yellowstone Ranger Station with a little more foot than necessary. I now keep my foot out of it at check in stations and campgrounds.

Should get the heat out a little faster. Allow the turbo to wind up a little faster and run cooler. Off the books Cummins Techs agreed with me.

By the seat of my pants, I feel there is a little more power there on grades.
Pics on the installation below in Logthumpers Photos - Making it ours.

Looks good Logthumper. I was concerned about the noise on the aero-turbine. I used something like the Flowmaster on the last coach if I remember right??????????

Thanks again

Dave

Nice pics in your album. I see you keep busy. Do you remember the length of the ss-5 flowmaster? Will look at my local trk shops and see what I can find.

Thanks

Dave

I installed my AeroTurbine 5050XL about 6 months ago. My findings are my EGT has been consistantly lower by 15-20 degrees. This I am very glad of because on numerous occasions on long climbs my EGT gets and stay too close the point where valve damage can occur. This was the main reason I replaced my rotting out stock piece of junk. A side benefit I have found is about .5 mpg improvement. The increased throaty sound, I like. And the best part of all, is it is a piece of art, though you have to get on a knee to view the masterpiece.

I did all the work myself. The longest part of it all was working out all the logistics, parts and pieces I needed to make a nice clean install. I think I managed it, I am very pleased with it.

Can you post photos of your art work? I really would like to see it installed.
