I have Hadley air horns on my "92" Barth Regency. They haven't worked since bought the coach last year. I'm just now getting around to repairing that problem. There were other more important fixes up till now. Does anyone know how they control the air valve? Or better yet a trouble shooting method. The electric horn works well.

I have a switch on the dash that will allow the horn button to operate the air horns when on and only the electric horns when off. You can follow an air line to the valve and then with someone's help check for 12 volts to valve when horn button is depressed. If you do have voltage but no air horns you may have a bad valve.

RV Wizard,

I discovered that the horns do work, but not well. I don't think they have been blown in four or five years. I had to lay on the horn button for a few seconds before they sounded. I blasted them a couple of times and then they would not sound, about ten minutes later they sounded again and then they would not. I think I need to trace the system and check all the components. I'm also going to clean the solenoid and then split out the system as you have done. It makes good sense to me.

Thanks for your input.

I had the same problem too. Went to the Hadley website to get info about ordering a new air solenoid, found the cleaning instructions. Cleaned it, and it worked great for about a month. Did it again, but added a drop of oil to the piston this time. Not had another problem in several months. Easy to clean.

Bill, I had the same problem. They sounded very "weak". There was some noise coming from them but very weak. I took the cover off the air horns and found "dirt dobber" nest in both horns. Cleaned the dirt out and they work great. Ken
