I have noticed on 2 gas powered late model Fleetwood Pace Arrows in the Auto trader in Canada, they mention air suspension??I have not been keeping up with the industry .Is this for real or is it just air bags.

We had a 1996 Winnebago Vectra GT with Jet-Air ride. The rear suspension was indeed air ride. The system had its own air bags, air compressor, leveling switches and individual controls for the driver. There were no springs on the rear chassis other than the air bags. It rode very well, similar to the air-ride DP's we have today. The front suspension was stock P-30 Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet and later Workhorse P30 chassis had air bags in its independent front suspension, actually a combination air and coil spring suspension. Some older Fleetwoods using this chassis also had adjustable air bags in the rear.

I don't know of any current gas chassis, either Ford or Workhorse, that has stock air suspension.

I remember now...I had a 1982 El Camino with what was called air shocks. There was a valve stem on the rear bumper near the license plate for inflating the shocks. Anytime I pulled my horse trailer I would inflate (jack up) the rear of the truck.
