Airing Tires
There is an air chuck on the front of our 36' diesel pusher in the generator bay.
I would like to setup a air hose to use for adding air to the tires when needed.
Would a 1/4" X 50' hose supply enough air or would a 3/8" X50' be better?
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.
That is what I was thinking but I wanted to make sure.

1/4 will work, just take longer than 3/8

After I posted my question, as an afterthought, which would be better, Rubber or Polyurethane hose?

For occasional use it does not matter hose construction.

If you haven't seen this before, it is good info. There are a few in this series of how to inflate high pressure RV tires.

I carry one of these on the road for "just in case" and have used it once when a valve stem extension loosened. Other than that, I check the air at home before we head out and use my shop air if needed which is faster. But, when the chips are down, this little gizmo will get you out of a bind. and I don't take up a lot of space.

My preference is rubber because it stores more easily...more flexible and lays flatter on the ground when in use.
I would also suggest a 3/8" coiled hose....the 50ft can be a little short when trying to get around to the right rear tires.
I actually keep two 25ft hoses...just for more flexibility...one is fine for just the front tires.
And remember the connector is the "automotive" type.
AND...a clip-on chuck is also nice.
Regards,
Dan

Same, but I plan on fulltiming in the near future and won't have my shop any longer. :(

I hear ya, if you do go for a portable, take a look at the Viair 450. But make sure it is the one with the 100% duty cycle. I don't have one but all the reviews tell me it's a pretty good piece of equipment.

I have an onboard 120 pound air tank.
I had problems with polyurethane hoses developing leaks to easily, so I replaced replaced it with rubber which are far more durable. I have had no problems with the rubber hose. Good for faster tire top offs.
