Airxcel thermostat gone wild !

I searched the forums and didn't find a hit for this issue...
apologizes if it's there and I missed it.

So starting about a week ago we started noticing that are A/C units would be running. We have the RV parked next to our driveway and connected to 30 Amp service. I would go in and turn the system to off and the units would shutdown. in a few days my wife would say she did the same thing.
Last night we noticed the units were running yet again, it looked like one was on Heat and the other unit was on cool. 2 15k Coleman units.

I unplugged the RV from the 30 amp service after we shut the A/Cs down again.

This morning I noticed that the thermostat was calling for cooling ( no elec. so it wasn't running. )

I can't find much info on the airxcel.com website..
Please let me know if there is a reset procedure, or a contact.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Bruce

Sometimes a 12 volt system shut-down for 10 - 15 minutes will help reset the t-stat, or unplug the cable from the backside of the t-stat. Check also that the cable plug is tight and clean.

Yes, good advice. Use battery disconnect or remove a battery cable and all external power for several minutes to force a reset and see if situation resolves itself. Also check wires at thermostat and back of power center to make sure grounds are tight. RVs experience rolling earthquakes on a regular basis and stuff just rattles loose. Power connections need to be checked from time to time.

So I did cycle the power, but I didn't leave it off for more than 20 seconds or so.. I will try doing that longer today.
I'll try and figure out how to remove the T-Stat from the wall and find the ground connections.

Thanks for both of those ideas.

A call to Coleman resulted in they think the thermostat is bad.
I have to get the model and then I guess order a new one.
I did find a manual for a Coleman 9330-3341 which looks like mine.
And it has the age old answer to 'when does elec. heat stop' question !
I've added the PDF below ( I hope ).

spoke with Airxcel today, looks like new thermostat will resolve, just have to get the exact model number off the back of the unit.

Interesting post. I have a 2017 Renegade Verona with the same system. A few weeks ago, the temperature for zone 1 kept fluctuating drastically. It would read 72 then jump to to 88, then jump to 65, causing the compressor to kick on and off on the front rooftop AC. Now, it seems to work fine. I don’t know?!?

I had a Monaco DP once upon a time with the thermostat mounted on an outside wall. They drilled a 1" hole for the wires to pass thru. That also allowed hot air to pass thru to the back side of the the thermostat. When that hot humid air hit the cool air inside, condensation formed and caused the thermostat to go nuts. Relocated to an inside wall and problem solved.

So I'm getting a new thermostat mailed out from Airxcel.

Interestingly over the weekend we were up north where it is cooler ( high 85 ) and the thermostat did not 'turn itself on'.

Now that I'm back home and 100+ I'll have to go check it again.

I'll update once the new thermostat is installed.

On my 2019 Verona I had a issue that when I was plugged into a temporary 30 amp circuit while I was installing a permanent 50 amp outlet I could get the front AC to run but not blow out cold. Once I plugged into a 50 amp circuit it worked blowing cold.

On a side note, I didn't read that you swapped out the from thermostat withs the rear. It would of been a good test.
