I have a 04 Alpine Coach with the electric screw jack front gen slide mechanism.(I'm not sure what year they changed from the hydraulic slide mechanism) The slide has been coming out slowly. On further inspection, I found that the steel needle bearing rollers on the slide mechanism had rusted solid, probably from salt on winter roads. Check yours, there are about 6 rollers per side(some kind of hidden in channels) and keep them sprayed with something like white lithium grease(napa auto parts), or you WILL have the same problem.

RoyBoy, welcome to our webssite and forum. We are glad to have you here with us and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. Thank you for reminding folks to maintain their units. There is a lot to keep up with but is well worth the effort. Hope you will be an active participant on the forum. Good luck and enjoy!

Hi Royboy:
I have an 03 30fdts Alpine. It has the electric jackscrew also. We previously had a 2000 alpine.
that unit had a hydraulic generator slide. The hydraulic worked much faster. However some folks had problems with the slide comming out. while driving so they changed to electric. I had a jackscrew failure early on and they sent out a replacement that I installed myself. The motor failed, I guess. This new one works fine but as I said it is slower than hydraulic.
I am havving trouble understanding how you electric jack screw came out on its own.
the gear ratio is so high that there should be noway that it could come out without electricty.
