I drive our Mandalay solo about 90% of the time. I travel in it a lot for business. While I would prefer that The Lovely and Gracious Linda travel with me, she can't often do that when I'm on a business trip. Even so, I rather enjoy it.

Driving solo is not a big deal. GO!

Sounds like a great time. If you really wanted a co-pilot, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find someone or a nice couple who would be up for a road-trip 'in style'. If none of your friends take the bait, and you're feeling adventurous and social, put it out there on Ridebuzz.org or similar.

So far she's holding up but very low energy and I never know what the day will bring.
Oh yes, she just used up all her short and long term disability.
I'd love to go by myself but I just can't do it and leave her home especially since she is prohibited from driving.
The OP's case is different as his wife is the support person. If she says to go then why not? I would if I had the chance under the OP's situation.
Been following your wife's troubled health issues. Sad deal I don't wish on anyone. Are you able to go out for day rides or quick overnight trips in your coach?

Nope, rig hasn't moved since at least Sept. other than to fill the fuel tank for storage.
DW just doesn't feel well enough to get out of bed very much. And most weekdays are filled with Dr and hospital appts. Between she and the grandsons school activities there just doesn't seem to be any reason to spend a few 100 $'s to take the MH out and her lay in bed the whole time. Can do that at home. Do have reservations for the July 4th weekend but the timing for a transplant will probably rule out us going as we have to be to the hospital in a short time if a liver becomes available. Sad part of it is someone has to die so she can live!

Mr D, so sorry to hear what you are going through. It is hard enough watching my wife deal with her mothers health issues, I can't imagine if it happened to my wife. Thoughts and prayers for you and her.

Tim:
Sorry to have posted my problems on your thread!
I should have just answered your question and left the rest out.

Don't worry about that, I just wish things were different for the two of you. Our lives are really lived backwards. When we have the health and energy we don't have the money and when we have the money we aren't guaranteed the health to take advantage of it.

OK, the Storm has been de-winterized and the fresh water tank if being sanitized as I type. No leaks and no surprises so far. This afternoon I will pull out the sanitizing water and put traveling water plus the whole house filter cartridge in the holder.

I have an appointment 7/11 for Mx on the coach. All I have so far is three windows that have lost their seal and some window weather stripping that needs replaced.

I was trying to figure out how to prove that the three windows condense between the panes. Tried putting an ice pack on the outside and that cooled the outside pane for the moist air between to condense very well. Will have no problem showing the problem. As a double check I put the ice pack on the windows I thought were good and they did not condense.

I am so excited to get out that I turned the co-pilot chair around and just lounged for an hour as if I were really out there.

I'm also known for doing that. Actually did it a bit tonight as I was sitting in my coach with the radio on, studying some manuals.

Non RV people don't get it, heck I didn't really get it until we bought our used Winnie about a year and a half ago.

Take your time and enjoy yourself. I traveled solo for several months while my wife and her sister were taking care of their aging father. It's definitely different than traveling with the wife, but there is something to say for doing what you want to do, when you want to do it and how you want to do it. No other considerations and no compromises. Enjoy your travels. RVers are the friendliest people you will ever meet. You'll be traveling by yourself, but you will definitely not be alone if you need assistance.
