Just did a thousand miles to the Rockies and back (western Oregon to Kalispell, MT), toad in tow, dash air on, lots of hills -- got 5.8 per, not so amazing On the way back, gas hit $4.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Gas in Montana was $3.53, all across Idaho it was $3.68, in eastern Washington $3.89, and when we hit Oregon it was $3.99 to $4.05. All regular, all in a space of three days.... Rural gas is cheaper? I always wonder how that works?

Ya gotta love this life.

I had a banks turbo package on my ISC350 and it improved MPG by 2-3 MPG. Monaco 2001 40 ft Diplomat. On good "non mountain" terrain pulling toad it was ~ 10Mpg with Turbo on and about 7-8 mpg with turbo off under same driving conditions. Speed @ 62 mph with cruise on.

No question - fuel saving and better performance, including about 25% more efective HP with turbo.

Turbo package is worth the money.

I tend to look at it as SPG (Smiles Per Gallons)

Here's the numbers for Florida to New York and back, 9 days, using route 81
3000 miles.

$1300. Fuel
$ 96. CG ( we stop every 3 day to dump and take on water )
$ 200. Food
$ 75. Tolls

Total $1671. for 3000 miles, divided by three people, a dog and a lizard that hangs on the windshield wiper arm. Multiplying that by a 1000 smiles a hour. Priceless !!!!
And when people ask me what I am going to do when diesel costs go's higher, I tell them " pay it, it's cheap SPG "
