You think awnings are bad - try owning a popup! It seemed like every time we were folding it up to go home it would start raining! Ahh, the good old days. Don't miss em' at all.
One memory that stuck with us for ages was while we were travelling out to Texas from North Carolina. We stopped for our first night, and while we were jacking up the roof, extending the beds, slipping the poles into the slots, installing the door (you get the routine) etc., a motor home pulls up in the neighboring slot. The jacks came down, the slides came out, and the driver came outside and plugged up the unit. He waved to us and was back inside enjoying his dinner before we were finished setting up. Now that was back in 1992, and it has stuck with us ever since. I still had flashbacks of that when we bought our first MH last year. Of course we weren't too far away since we were on our second fifth wheel before we took the last step to ultimate travel comfort!
