Hi again everyone.

After reading about tires here, we attempted to determine the age of the tires on the motorhome we purchased, used, last fall.

They are LT235/85R16.

I did read the post about how to determine the age, but the only other number we can find on the front tire is : T476 16074, and this number doesn't seem to fit any of the "decoding rings" mentioned

The previous owner told us the tires were "relatively new", but we aren't sure how up front he was about a number of things, and we didn't know enough then to even ask the right questions. The motorhome is a 1993 model, so I don't think the tires could be 1974s...
My husband thought the treds looked good, so didn't question the owner further.

Any tire cryptologists out there?

Thank you.

Bee, here is a link to a site that may be of help.
If I am reading it right your tire may have been manufactured in the 7th week of 94.
Hope it helps.

You will need to look at the DOT stamp on the tire (usually in a retangle box); before 2000 there are three numbers, after will be four numbers. Example will be: 2503, 25 weeek of 2003

Those numbers do not look like a DOT code to me either. First, look for the letters "DOT" at the beginning of the string of letters and numbers, Then find the last group of 3 or 4 (depending on age) numbers, sometimes separated by a triangle or other symbol. The DOT code may be on the back side of the tire.
