Any ideas of how to get rid of campfire smoke smell in a coach ??

while I agree that if fires are allowed, anyone can have one. I, however, am very allergic to smoke, so I stay away from campfires or I pay the price! To each his own!!

In all of my years of camping and RVing, I have never heard of anyone complaining about a campfire. This is a first for me. Thank goodness you are not in Southern California. We burn er down every few years.
To answer the question, try Fabreeze. I used it to get rid of tabacco smoke in a used car I bought., and it worked great !!

I agree that smoke is a solid and the only real way to get rid of it is a complete wipedown with soap and cleaner. Then, if you have a fabric ceiling as opposed to vinyl, Fabreze works quite well. Mine wasn't a campfire it was a pan full of bacon. Took a lot of elbow grease and cleaner to get rid of that lingering smell.

Be glad you are in an area of the country where you can have a campfire. In the state of Texas those are pretty much outlawed right now. As far as getting rid of the smoke odor. The best thing you can do is what we do. Open it up and let the wind blow through it.

Campfires are not too bad. I was once across from someone that had a smoldering fire all day fed with his trash.He stayed inside except to feed the fire.

Personally, I LOVE the smell of a campfire, to me, it means camping. My girls love it, too. I agree with Fabreeze, it doesn't just mask the smell, it actually eliminates it from the air.

Same method as we've used for getting rid of skunk smell - use a throw away pie tin, toss a couple of teaspoons of sugar in it, put on top of stove, and then deliberately burn the sugar - it will remove the smell instantly....

I've never heard of that...

Does the pie tin have to be aluminum, or does it matter?
I wondered if it's just the burning sugar that does the trick, or if there's some kind of chemical reaction between the sugar and the aluminum...

You should camp at walmart if you do not want you camper to be next to a campfire. You need to be real, people want a campfire. You will need to look into a smoke free campground next time.

It's just the burning sugar that does the trick - the throw away pie tin is so I don't have to clean up afterwards

I can't help about getting rid of the smell after its there, so I solved the smell problem by using one of these:

All the warmth, all the glow, with no fuss, no wet wood, and no smell.
Makes great s'mores too!
