Anybody Found A Cure?
Anybody have a simple cure to keep clothes and hangars from jumping off the rack?  Thanks in advance for any great ideas.

I don't know if this is a great idea but it worked for me. I replaced the closet rod with a heavier one and mounted it closer to the ceiling. If I hit a bump I think the clothes and hangers just bump against the ceiling and rest back on the rod. Just did 2600 mi. and not one garment or hanger on the floor. Happy wife!
I used a 1 1/2 in oak rod and slipped a plastic sump pump hose onto it to keep the clothes from sliding down to one end. That worked also.

Find two (Or three, or one if you don't have a center support.) bungee cords the correct length to go from the center rod support to the end, it needs to be fairly tight.
Put the bungee on top of or if possible turned to the closed side of the hanger. Now when they hop off they'll hit the bungee and stop hopefully never leaving the rod.

I know the 5er has a really long hanger (across the entire front) so the DW filled it up. First couple trips had the hanger pulled out of the wall. After that we laid the clothes on the bed when traveling.
Coach seems to ride very well. Nothing fell off when we brought it home, a trip about 2500 miles.

Our factory closet rod was very skimpy so when the wife loaded it up with clothes it would sag the rod so much that it would come out of the rod support. Clothes, hangers and rod would end up on the closet floor.
The heavier rod took care of that problem and mounting it closer to the ceiling made sure that nothing would jump off of the rod.

mine has a wire rack not a rod.

I must confess I am at a loss to understand how this could happen regularly, yet several have responded as if it were a regular, non-surprising occurrence. Are you driving down bumpy roads at speed? I don't get it. We've put 16000 miles on in the last 2 years and one month and not once has a hanger come off the rod or any garment slipped off the hanger. How are you folks doing it??

We had issues in our 5er. Ride was rougher in the 5er because of the axles being in the middle.
None so far in the coach and do not anticipate having issues.

I can't go that slow! the problem is that our wardrobe is in the rear cap so there is a lot of bounce back there.our last coach had the wardrobe in the hallway and we never had this problem.

Put new shock absorbers on the rear axle?
I think this problem occurs mostly in gas chassis coaches with a long rear overhang. The pitching motion over a RR track or similar makes the hangers jump. Haven't had that issue since we moved to a DP, even though the closet is across the rear.
