Anyone 'De Badge' their MH and why?

We are in an RV park in KC, MO and there is a beautiful new Entegra coach near us. In looking to see which model it was, I noticed all the identifying decals, logos, etc. had been removed. The only evidence it was an Entegra coach was the stainless plate with the Entegra name on the full length rear flap.

I finally did see the owner and, after commenting on his beautiful rig, asked him if it was an Anthem or Cornerstone (had seen Aspires so didn't look like one). I noted the absence of the factory logos. He seemed reluctant to admit that it was an Anthem and said he had removed them. He said he had yet to remove the rear flap. He did not seem to want to have any conversation so I left him alone.

So, l am curious if others 'de-badge' their rigs and if so, why?

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
Some people feel they are "Advertising" for the manufacture without getting paid.

Mine had been stripped of its identity by the previous owner. He said he just didn't care for the badging. I've actually replaced most of them.

That line in that video clip is the first thing that poped into my mind when I read the OP!

Hi,

I leave all mine on and I have a Winnebago and like to advertise it. It is a super coach and our 4th Bago.

There are people that don't want to advertise their coach but I don't feel I'm advertising I just like the winnebago product especially the Adventurer.

Mine came from the factory missing the model decal on the driver side. At apx 5 years a letter peeled off the rear logo. You can't buy just one letter so I removed it all thinking I would leave it off (replacing it seemed like an unnecessary expense) but the slight paint fade made it a bit to noticeable even for DW so we replaced it. The point is that unless you remove the badging/decals very early in the life of the rig, there will be obvious paint fade if the coach has been out in the sun.

It may have been stolen.

As Art Linkletter famously said, " People are funny". That translates as peculiar.

The owner was probably a salesman for Thor.

My husband has debadged every new car we have bought; usually within the first few days after bringing it home. Something about liking the clean look of it (we always buy black or dark grey vehicles) is his reason.

That said, the idea to debadge our RV has never even been a consideration for him as far as I know. If it had been he would have removed all that stuff months ago.
