We have a 07 Magna with the aquahot for heating and hot water. We are
in Salt lake City for some radiation therapy and are experiencing our
first time in cold weather. The problem I'm having is with the Zone
3(bedroom) radiator. When the unit runs it blows cool for hours on end
then I'll put my hand to check and hot air is coming out. When it was
blowing cool I lifted the bed and cracked the water fitting and high
pressure coolant shoot out, so there is fluid in the line and it is
getting pumped through the radiator. The control panel in the bay
shows no faults. I called the Aqua hot guys and he suggested it was
the thermostat which controls the zones.
Has anyone had anything like this happen?
Any Ideas?

I'm not so sure about that. From your description it sounds like it blows cold air at times and then it blows hot air. My unit is a HydroHot but it's basically the same thing as the larger AquaHot and works in the same manner. On my unit I had a situation where the thermostat wouldn't shut off and the system kept heating up until I replaced the thermostat but that's a different situation than yours.

The way the system works is that your thermostat sends a low voltage control signal to the AquaHot. Then the circulating pump kicks in (if it's not already running) and a solenoid valve opens up, allowing the hot boiler antifreeze to circulate to that zone's heat exchanger and return back to the main unit in a loop. Then your heat exchanger's fan kicks in to transfer the heat from the heat exchanger into the room.

If your thermostat was defective you'd have one of two things. It'd either have no heat, no hot antifreeze present, and no fan action or else it'd be running constantly. You seem to have a split action in that it's blowing cool air, which indicates fan action but not any antifreeze circulation. My guess is that a solenoid valve is intermittently sticking in the closed position, not allowing the hot antifreeze to get to the heat exchanger. Yet the 12 volts is present because the fan is running. Later on, when the solenoid valves "unsticks" and opens up, you have hot antifreeze present and warm air is now blowing.

That's my guess anyway. I'd run that by your Country Coach service center guys and see if they agree. If not, I'd be interested in their final diagnosis.

I'd say Cruzer's analysis is correct. The t-stat must be calling for heat but the valve isn't opening to satisfy it, so the fan keeps running blowing cold air.

Maybe because of lack of use valve is sticking as said, why not turn up temp in that zone higher than normal to exersize the valve and see if that helps to free it up.

I've had the "sticking valve" problem being suspected here. Take the cover off and you'll see the pumps with the valves located right downstream. With the thermostat for all zones calling for heat, CAREFULLY touch the lines downstream of the valves. The one that's cold probably has a sticking valve. Rap it lightly with something(I used a small cresent wrench), the line should start heating up.

The key word was new coach. thanks for all your suggestions. I ran through the trouble shooting everyone suggested and what I found was that the pump motors were wired wrong. Pump 1 motor circulated coolant in the #3 system and the #3 pump was tied to #1 zone. therfore fan no circulation.
