Post Are you losing coolant and not sure why?

Hi...

We wrote a blog post on our travel blog in regards to loosing coolant and could not see a leak. Turns out to be ERG Cooler leaking with the engine burning it off. Here is the story...

Loosing coolent, not sure why? « Outside Our Bubble

And here is the followup after the repair was made and we got back on the road...

ERG Cooler Replaced, Back On The Road « Outside Our Bubble

I had posted this on the Gulf Stream forum, as we own a Tour Master, and found it helped some people. So, I thought I would post it here in the hope it will help some others.

Happy Holidays!

David, good info; I always presume that its the head gaskets when someone mentions the mysterious loss of coolant, do you know if an oil sample was sent out to confirm that no glycol is showing up in the lube oil?-not able to access the link on my end.

Hello...

Part of the replacement of the ERG is to replace all the oil. So, not sure if you meant after the oil was replaced or not.

Could not access the link? Site seems fine. Pondering.

Had to reset our security settings, I see now what coach you have, MB makes fine engines; I speak from experience, a head gasket problem would be most unlikely-what I find interesting is that there was no plume of white vapor, very, very interesting.

Your experience with the Freightliner boys/girls has been exactly the same as mine-these people are serious about business and even more serious about getting their customes up and running in short order.
