Winnebago's are a bit easier than many for installing the hard wired model due to their one place location for the majority of the controls/displays which is why I went with the hard wired version myself. The Onan factory service center in Tampa had the best prices around when I got mine over a year ago so I bought locally and saved on shipping.

Correction I just checked my receipt from July 2007 and the Cummins price in Tampa for the Onan EC 30 was $180 and the harness was $22.16 for a total of $216.31 after taxes.

Jerry - Did the price go up an additional $200 for the EC 30 module? They charged you more than double compared to what I paid for mine in 07.

Ours was less than 200K brand new. (several years ago)
Seriously, The generator is a Onan 8.0hdkak/1145 and the inverter a Dimensions WIN12x20B3RT.

I paid $400 (including the wiring harness) for my Onan EW-30 a couple of months ago. I called all over the country and found the best price from Onan in Elkhart. I installed it myself. It starts the generator when the inverter batteries go below a set level, when a preset thermostat in the hand held controller calls for air conditoning, when the shore power is interupted, etc. A great device with a handheld controller. It took about an hour to install and set everything.

I'm confused. Is that the Onan EC-30W (wireless, handheld) or the Onan EC-30 (hardwired)? I think the EC-30W.

Sorry about the misprint, mine is the Onan EC-30W wireless handheld.

Just compare the different features of both and either is a nice addition.

I installed the Onan EC-30W on my 2007 Monaco Knight with an Onan 8000 generator. It took a whole 20 minutes to install. The Y-connector connects directly to your generator wiring as well as one purple wire to the back of your generator positive battery post. You have to watch were you place the remote as it needs to be plugged into a non-inverter power outlet and must synchronized with the genset. I added an additional non-inverter outlet near my main control panel, as this was the best place to keep the unit for continued synchronization. The unit can be set up to manage both your batteries as well as air conditioning. I purchased mine because I had 2-cats and was worried about losing power at any campground. It works great for staying at a Wal-Mart for a night. You set up how low your batteries can get before the unit activates. I will start the generator; charge the batteries, then shut off. It also can be set up for quite hours. I have had mine for 2-years and I am very happy with its performance. Cost was about $500. I purchased when the system first hit the market.
