Patio awning, window awning or slide topper? A&E slide toppers are notorious for peeling, so am wondering if that is what you are referring to.

The fabric can be replaced on any awning, but for window and slide toppers the dealers usually want to replace the whole thing rather than the fabric. Easier for them and less labor, which makes the total cost similar. If you do it yourself, replacing the fabric alone will save you substantially. You can get replacement fabrics from places like PPL Motorhomes Parts Dept - just call with your awning make and model.

DIY is not terribly difficult but some experience with dealing with the powerful coiled springs inside the awning tube is helpful because they can be dangerous if you are not careful.
