I have a Dometic 21' Weather Pro Power Awning on my coach and in
order to get more shade, I installed the 6' x 15' Sunblocker from Carefree that slips into the channel on the tube. My intention was to leave it in the tube and roll it up with the awning. Carefree cautions not to do this asit may damage the fabric and/or the motor in the tube. I have rolled it in and out a dozen times over two weeks without trouble.
Anybody have any experience in this matter ?

macadnphyl, Not my favorite thing to do with my A&E 8500. The roll get sway too big and unmanageable. Your experience may vary. My awning is always wet when I unroll it so I might think that the shade inside the roll might become mildewed.

I rolled up my sunscreen inside my A&E with a Carefree automatic conversion without any trouble for over a year - I just sold my Wh22 and bought a DP. . I kept it dry and made sure it didn't fold over as it was rolling up. It was also 6" shorter than the main awning, giving a 3" margin on each end. Loved it.

We have had this addition for about a year and it works well. No issues. We do have the A&E automatic weather pro. However we did swap out the arms & motor with Carefree arms/motor a year ago when the A&E arm broke and the A&E tech was too incompetent to fix it. I would say the Carefree arms are more substantial and the motor is a "little" stronger. Don't know if that would make a difference, but as I said, our works well.
