Awning slot "alignment"

Hi every one. I bought some lights to attach to our awning but when I tried to install the light holder in the awning roller slot, the end of the slot is blocked by the awning bar. The roller needs to turn a few more degrees, or a few less I guess. Any ideas on how to correct this?

When we had our motor home with this type awning, we just pulled it out a bit further or backed it up and inserted whatever we wanted into the other slot then you can put it where you want it.

Slide the other support arm out to the end. Pull down on the brace to get the roll slot to move down where you want it. Hold it there and tighten the knob on the support arm. Do that on both ends.
Best to do the other end with the flip ratchet first.

Take the arms out of the fastener on the sidewall and put them on the ground. Now the slot is available.

Stop the awning a few inches early as you unroll. Your slot will be a bit above the arm. Insert lights and unroll fully.
