Awnings
I have 07 Monaco Knight. The electric door awning has an issue. It will go out but won't retract. I hit retract and it just clicks. I had it at the dealer and they blamed it on weak battery. Now same issue. The batteries are full.

Welcome to iRV2.
Sorry you're here with problems .
The dealer checked the awning and it worked for a while ?
Now it won't operate.
Are you on shore power ?
Have you tried retracting with the engine running ?
Has the power to the awning controller been tested to make sure it's getting full battery power ?
Wouldn't be the first time a poor connection caused erratic operation of a 12 volt motor .

from WA State!
I was having troubles with my awnings. Found a wiring box on the roof that had water in it due to a cracked/improperly sealed cover. Dried it out, put new connectors on and sealed it all back up. Everything is working fine now.

Sad Sack go to the owners corner forums here on IRV2 and click on Monaco group. Many folks over there with exact same coach. Good luck.

Does it click like a stripped gear which happens a lot or click once as you send power to it?

It clicks just once each time I hit the retract toggle. It's on shore power so power shouldn't be issue.

Have you tried just to push it in with you hand to make sure it's not stuck?

Yes. The 1st time I was camping and had to push back in and zip tie so I could get back. At home now came straight from the dealer to home. Ran it out and before the storm came went to fuel it up and it wouldn't come in.

Put your MH information into your signature
Take a couple of minutes to fill out your signature with information about your motorhome (MH) This will really help in all future posts so you don't have to type it each time.
You do this by:
1) Going to the top of this page and click the top left tab named “User CP”
2) Look at the menu on the left and scroll down to “Settings & Options” and click “Edit Signature”
3) In that text box type all the information about your MH. Year, model, length, mileage, any aftermarket extras installed and so on.
Well, after your comments, I would suspect the switch. I would first pull out the switch and inspect, clean, tighten connections and reinstall to see if that works. If it doesn't, I'd replace the switch first before I chased other possibilities. This switch is 10 yrs. old and is one that is used often and quite possibly has just worn out or is broken.
