Just wondering if anyone has thought about using a computer camera for the backup camera with a laptop as the monitor? Would be interested in hearing about that.

No, but today I finished installing a ultra sonic, or something like that, backup detector to the old girl. It screws onto the back and is wired to the backup lights. There is an alarm speaker in the cab. When you put it into reverse, the speaker goes off a couple of times to let you know it is on. Then as you back toward things, it will beep when something gets close. When it gets really close, the beeper gets louder. Not bad for $50 and an afternoon's work. Plus I found my low point drains!
