Bad experience but Good People

Stopped at the camp ground for overnight as I returned from South Carolina to Illinois. Got an excellent spot and hooked up, leveled up, and started the slide out. Went out third of the way then stopped. Tried to bring back in and started but stopped. Checked everything I could find and no luck finding the problem. Went to the Office and they gave me a name to call for mobile service. Called the number but he was out of town. Being fairly new at this I did not have the technical numbers to call so I was at the mercy of the all but useless RV manual and what I could find on the Internet. However, I found quickly that when a problem exists on a camp ground, it isn't long before several folks show up to help. To make a long story short, with the help of some fine folks and the Camp Ground Staff, I was able to at least get the slide back in so I could travel home with only one day delay. The eagerness to help and crawl over and under my RV by folks I never met before makes us sure even though we are not real pleased with our RV itself, spending time with RV folks is special. Thanks to all who helped us and the I40 KOA in Crossville TN for all your help.

Please take time and complete your profile and coach info so you can help us help you.
Also (from the Emergency Management side of my brain) please take time to read your build sheet and find and print as many manuals as you can find. Then sit down with your beverages of choice and look through them. You won't be able to know everything but you will have a majority of the answers and you won't have to worry about crappy internet on top of your frustration that something isn't cooperating.

Sorry to hear about your troubles and hope you can learn what is needed for repairs. The folks at Crossville TN KOA are great. We have been there two times with fellow camper friends. It's a clean and nice facility which I would return to when in the area.
