Balancing beads
How many people carry balancing beads in case they need a tire from a road side service. And what brand do you carry?

I have new tires with Dyna-Beads for balance. Am very happy with the tires and the beads. Getting extra beads for emergency is a good idea.

Not a bad idea. It would probably be pretty easy to go to a tire store and buy a couple of bags. I'm thinking you would have to be lucky though, to find roadside service that brought out an exact match for your current tires, eliminating the need to follow up with a visit to a tire store within a day or so.
I installed Centramatics, so I'm balanced no matter what goes on the rim.
I just looked, you can get beads on Amazon....about $20.00. It might be cheaper at attire store, since they usually only charge $10-$11 for bead balancing.

I have Centramatic wheel balancers.... (no need to carry beads).

Thanks first I have heard of them getting ready to get new tires. Problem centramatics run about $100 per axle and beads run about $20 per tire. So every 7 years it cost $120 so ruffly 21 years to break even. Is it really worth the difference.

That is what I have on all of mine! I don't remember exactly how much I paid for them, it was more than $10 per tire, but no more than the cost of spin balancing.

I do carry extra bags of beads. I use the air gun BB's from Wal-Mart at way less than half the price of DynaBeads!

I don't carry spare balancing beads, but I always have plenty of extra air with me in case it is needed.

"Tha Rooster".......I use to sell tires in my younger days and was a nut about having everything perfectly spun balance. Several years ago I tried beads in the front tires of my Monaco Diplomat and really liked them. I also installed Centramatics on the rear of the Diplomat when I replaced those tires. The ones that came off, which were balanced with weights had a lot of choppy wear. After installing the Centramatics, they wore PERFECTLY for over 30K when I sold the coach.
My Dutch Star had a slight balance issue that I was very sensitive to. I installed the Centramatics and eliminated the problem. The Centramatics are obviously more pricey, but they also balance the entire hub assembly and rim, not just the tire. It's a personal choice where I'm willing to spend more for the performance versus the cost, which is not for everyone. When it comes to suspension and rolling down the road, I like to have the best quality equipment I can get, for the smoothest ride.

It seems to me the beads would balance the whole assembly also. Why not, it is the same principle, just a different location for the balancing medium.

If the BBs rust it could potentially cause problems with both the tire and the wheel.

They are high-impact plastic! I bought a container that provided enough beads for 3 tires for about $15.00! That's 12 oz per tire for 22.5" tires.
