bank of america rv extended warranty coverage
Has anyone bought their extended warranty through bank of america? My husband and I will be picking up our used gulf stream endura 6340 from the dealer this Saturday and would like some input? If bank of america is not the way to go, any other reputable companies that sell extended warranties? Or are we better off putting money away for repairs instead? Thank you in advance!

I don't know about Bank of America but it is a company that won't disappear on you like many I have heard of. I would try googling it as Bank of America extended warranty complaints or something like that. I did it for the insurance company we were recommended for the Rv and it had a poor rating but then all of them did on the websites I found because most sites like that become complain sessions. People who are happy with something usually don't post. That being said. We went with the Good Sam one through Camping World. It is expensive and everything I have read says bank the money and if you have a problem it's there and if you don't use it, you still have the cash. I have never went with one for a car but I broke down and went with it for our 2008 class B+. Why? It only has 6000 miles but it sat. Not sure how stored etc. So for 4 years we are totally covered. We've only had it a couple weeks and our air fan is making noise and one compartment flooded and had a leak with our slideout. Maybe nothing but I can bring it in for a $50 deductable and have all 3 things worked on. Chasing ghosts can be expensive. (Plus we aren't good at just putting the money away.) Hope this helps.

I don't believe ACC is associated with the BoA but I have my servivce contract with them and have no complaints. Nor have I seen any complaints about them. Going through the process of signing up with them was very positive, even going so far as giving me names of people in my hometown (some were friends) who are with them so that we could check them out prior to buying.

Thank you
Thank you for the replies, it has been very informative. The Endura 6340 we purchased had low miles for being 5 years old (i'm assuming it was sat a lot), so I bet it would be a safe bet as well to purchase an extended warranty just to be safe. We tried to contact the financial officer to have her e-mail us a blank contract, and it has been a few days with no avail. I've been researching Good Sam's extended warranty as well, we may go with them instead. Thank you again!

Odds are BOA is just the selling agent and not the underwriter (insurer0 for the extended service plan. If you can't find out who the policy is with, shop elsewhere.

if you must have an extended warranty, look for one that is exclusionary, states what is not covered rather than what is covered.
beware of statements like seals not being covered. that covers a lot of ground and can be used to deny coverage on most components that have seals that could leak or be damaged by a seal failure.
there are threads on this forum that cover this subject in a lot of detail.

Update
We got a copy of the Bank of America (BOA) extended warranty contract, it looks like Interstate National Dealer Services, Inc is the carrier. Luckily, this contract provides what IS included and what is excluded. There are some parts that BOA covers whereas Good Sam doesn't. Such as the radiator, rubber springs, air dryer and duct works for air conditioning and heating systems...We still have a couple of days to decide which plan to go with, any more comments would be appreciated! Thank you
