Does anyone have input on installing a Banks (complete) Power System on a Ford Triton V 10 6.8 liter engine? Either favorable or unfavorable replies will be much appreciated. Thanks, Phil

Phil,
What year is the chassis you are looking to install the Banks on ? I too am interested about the Banks system and would like to know if anyone has added any Banks aftermarket accessories to an '06 chassis.

I installed it on my Triton V10 (1998 model) with an Itasca 36' Sunflyer MH. I did not realize any appreciable increase in MPG; however did notice a slight increase in hill climbing power. All said and done - I would not do it again. The very slight improvement was not worth the cost.

Sorry about omitting the rest of the info about the Banks inquiry. I have a 2004 Monaco....Monarch SE 34' with a couple of slides and 22.5" tires. I've been to other forums discussing this subject, and haven't found anybody that's been "thrilled" with the outcome of installing this system. Aren't we talking about $ 4,000. approx? Thanks, Phil

In my experience the Banks system has the most dramatic increases on diesel engines. It is pricey, but there may be other less costly upgrades.
My warning to anyone though is to fully understand that enhancing power to ANY engine will most likely nullify your warranty. That being said, many folks do power upgrades without ever having a major issue. Just be aware of the possibility.

Had the Banks sys installed on Fords helped with power and bum manifolds but no MPG improvement.
Have Workhorse now and added Ultrapower by BRAZELS and have everything now with cost to irv2 members of $695.

I put the complete kit on, exhaust, air filter, transcommand and ottomind on my 1999. It made a significant differencfe in teh driveability-- no more dropping down a gear while on cruise and going over overpasses in the intersate. I think it was more like $2300 direct from the factory in 2000 -- an easy driveway install for me

With the Ultrapower upgrade there is no need for the Transcommand,We take care of the trans adjustments in the chip.We get generally 35-50 Horsepower in useable RPM ranges, not at 5000 RPM as the exhaust manufactures get thier increases.

I have a 2000 32v southwind with the v-10. When I first got it I was disappointed with the power. Prior to the Southwind we drove a Pace Arrow, Banks equipped, that had lots of power.
I installed the Banks system with the trans command and have been very pleased with the difference it made. My friends that have equipped their chevs with the Banks still leave me on the hills, but it did make a difference. I am currently batling Ford due to a check engine light that will not go away. They want me to go back to stock before they will do any more work. So that could be a problem. Banks says their system would not cause the problems I am having. There you go. Does increase power. Do not believe all they tell you about increase gas mileage.

Banks makes the claim that they tune for torque as opposed to horsepower like the auto chips do. The exhaust headers are also tuned for the midrange to gt the torque that an RV needs.
I was extremely pleased with the Banks Power Pak on my V-10, except for the price...ouch.
