Well, it depends on what engine and tranny you have and what loads are on them. Transcommand can help quite a bit or be of little significance.

Transcommand basically adjusts the shift points of an automatic, supposedly to make them better for towing or moving heavy vehicles. The factorysettings are general purpose for a variety of applications and Banks thinks they can improve on them for Rvs. I had it - along with the full Banks header and exhaust kit - on a big 1996 Southwind with a Ford 460 and E4OD tranny and the package as a whole performed exceeding well. That was a strecthed F53 chassis with atag axle, so the old 460 was really loaded down.

On a more recent model, say witha five speed auto (Ford or Workhorse), the Transcommand may not be able to improve very much over the factory settings. I've never heard anything bad about a Transcommand installation, though.

Gary,Thanks for the reply. I have the 2003 F-53 Ford Chassis, with the E4OD tranny. Downshifts in OD are frequent and if this cuts that down,
that is great !! The coach is a 2004 gulfstream Sunvoyager (as registered) but all I read from Ford is 2003 (Late model sale).
Added several "upo-grades" like FireStone Air-Ride, Steer Safe, Rear track bar and K&N Filter.

So far, All have improved performance .....

You may want to inquire of Banks whether the Transcommand for your year chassis will affect the overdrive (4th gear) to 3rd gear shift point.

Especially if you are installing Transcommand only, without the Banks headers and exhaust.

I think yout transmission may be the 4R100, which is a slightly improved version of the E4OD - higher rated torque converter, I think.

I'm curious how you got a E4OD in a 2003 chassis. When Ford started putting V10s in their F53s (1999), they discontinued the E4OD and started using the 4R100. Did you change it for some reason?

Richard, unless the paperwork I have with the rig is incorrect ... I don't know how to answer that..... No, I did not change it ... but I will go back and recheck what I have.

Thanks for the input.
