Bathroom Vents bounce open on the road?

Does anyone else have this problem? As we travel down the road our bathroom vent covers open. I know they were closed when we left the campground but even on short rides they are open when we get home.

I accused DW of leaving them open but she had the last laugh when I check them myself before we left and they were both secure. Ha! The rear one was open almost all the way up when we pulled in.

Does this happen to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it?

I wouldn't know, I rarely have my bathroom vent closed, especially if it's very cold or very hot. The dash air unit doesn't move much air so leaving the back vent open moves a LOT of air down the back.

Hard to imagine that happening! What make of vent and is the mechanism a hand crank or motor driven? Either way, how does the gear move while traveling? If electric, maybe the switch is somehow getting tripped while you drive?

It's a manual screw type handle, no motor.

Ours bounces closed. That's her line and she is sticking too it. ;-)

Maybe there's a lock or a fix to prevent the knob from turning. Maybe it's not the gear that's turning maybe it's skipping the gear and just popping open? Not sure. I have to find a way to secure the knob and see what happens. That's where I thought seine here might have experienced the same problem and has a solution...

I have the same problem with mine. It is very hard to close it tight. I have to jiggle the slide to get it to shut. If it isn't tightly closed, it will open when I drive. The kitchen one closes ok. Still working on a fix.

Can't say I ever noticed. Install some maxair covers and worries will be over.

I have max air covers and it will still open if it doesn't lock tight. On mine the cover doesn't go down square, it's to one side.

I've heard of people's vents closing, vibration; gravity and all, but opening...might be one of those alternate universe things. Try lubricating them.
