Bedroom A/C doesn't work with Gen power

My rear air conditioner doesn't work when I am on generator power, everything else works.

When on shore power it works.
The energy management system display shows 30 amp when the generator is running and it shows that A/C 2 has power.

Any ideas?

You should have two circuit breakers on the generator. One is the main power and the other usually is for the second AC only. Check the breakers to see if one is tripped.

I though of that, but the OP stated he had power indicators lit for both ACs. They would be after the generator breakers but worth checking.

My guess is that somewhere there is a switch that diverts power between an a/c and something like a microwave. Or possible a front/rear /ac switch that determines which a/c gets power from the main 30A source. The combination of those two switches can alter the results when using genset instead of shore power.

The EMS only knows that power through its relay is present and that is at the back of the main power panel (breaker box). It can't know if another switch or relay further down the line is routing the power elsewhere. Or shutting it off completely.

Just went out and checked generator and the 20 amp breaker was off or trip, started the gen and the rear A/C works.
I was afraid it might be the energy management system.
THANKS, this is group, it has help me solve a lot or problems and prevent a lot.
so many things watch out for and learn for other peoples problems.
Thanks everybody!
