As others have said there is no best so users promote what they know. All GPS-based nav systems use the same satellites (usually 3) and get the same very accurate position (time) signal. How well the software uses the position determines the accuracy and dependability of the navigation. All GPS system make mistakes, so you wont find one that is 100% dependable.

I use Copilot RV on an iPad Pro, mounted in front of the passenger seat and mirrored to my front overhead TV through an Apple TV. The big attraction for me is flexibility and user friendliness. The maps are stored on the iPad so no internet connection is required. However, since we have an almost always on internet connection while traveling, my copilot (DW) uses the iPad with all of our other apps like Rest Stops, Trucker Path, Pilot/ Flying J, Google, etc., all while Copilot continues to run in the background. Once were camped the iPad is just an iPad and not another dedicated box sitting in the corner. And, with Copilot, I can sit outside and plan and save any route, even for trips Im taking next year. Still, its not perfect by any measure.

Whatever GPS system you decide on make sure you check the proposed route before you travel. A good way to do that is to use something like Google maps to fly the route in satellite view, zooming is as necessary to look at turns, exits and stops so there are no surprises.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Also good to have paper at times. We also use a large Rand McNally truckers map with a spiral edge to keep map open to a state easily, and the East and West mountain range books for elevations. Tool boxes should contain a few different tools that can be used on one job...the destination.
