Beware of L.D. Express in Needles, CA

We stopped here for gas and the man noticed our tires on our MH were not looking good. I hesitated to buy from him knowing we would probably get ripped off. If I had not seen they were bad, I would have driven away. 2 were bad and since we only had 200 miles more to go, felt the others would be OK. But the pressure kept up and I gave in.

I believe it was a case of being a woman traveling with a husband who is ill and he seeing he could take advantage of us. He assured me the price was as good as we would get anywhere else. I knew he was wrong but not how wrong. Turns out the price he charged us was twice the price we would have paid in Yuma. I could handle a little markup but this was outright robbery.

If you are ever stuck needing tires, do not believe the old man that works there. Yes, the tires were getting bad but he lied about not marking the tires up. When we left I could feel him laughing all the way to bank and now I know he is! One sucker down the drain! It was a Sunday and I should have parked for the night and shopped around on Monday. My fault.

NEVER NEVER STOP IN NEEDLES, THE WHOLE TOWN IS A RIP OFF !!!
I have been traveling through Needles since 1959 and they have allways been like that. I wouldn't even go into the Catholic Church in Needles. Thats how bad Needles is !

I have to agree with Chuck. Needles is just a total ripoff. My folks live just the other side of the river, and the price differences are amazing.

In October, Needles fuel for 87 octane for $3.79. Right across the Broadway Bridge is was $3.19 and at the AZ95 intersection (about 4 miles from Needles) it was $2.69.
