Pulled into a CG in Montrose, CO. last year and wondered why all the wind indicators mounted on beefy posts.
Three days later, we were hit with a microburst (57mph, per neighbors guage)...no rain, no dark clouds and no warning. Just 'BOOM' and it was over in 15 seconds. The top of a small, on site tree was bent over parallel to the ground and our humming bird feeder was MIA. Luckily, it had been a little windy for the patio awning to be out, otherwise it would have been destroyed. Neighbor's TT was blown off it's stabilizer blocks and another's MH window awning braces were badly bent. We were tail into the wind with no damage. Darnedest thing I've ever seen.
